In addition to our standard training courses and bespoke training, we also offer our clients financial systems training. This is not technical training, but training developed to enable staff to be able to use the financial system in a devolved environment, where the financial system is not just used by finance and IT staff.
For example:
Case Study
A local authority has introduced a new financial system which is user friendly and which it requires all staff to be able to generate their own reports, and a wide range of nominated staff to be able to raise purchase orders, pay invoices and undertake other basic tasks.
Although the financial systems provider offered training this was limited to a few dedicated users in the finance department.
Our objectives were:
- To disseminate a basic understanding of how the system worked across the organisation and enabling them to access the system for information and to perform certain basic tasks
- To ensure that managers and support staff understood why they had to undertake certain tasks such as raising purchase orders, or approving payments
- To ensure that the implications of not using the system properly were understood
- To explain how the new financial system supported service operations
- To create greater efficiency and effectiveness in the use of the system leading to better control, time and cost saving
Solution Provided:
We developed a range of training programmes incorporating the financial systems element as well as developing financial skills and providing under-pinning knowledge. These programmes were tailored at two different levels, for regular users, and infrequent users, managers, and operational staff.
We have assisted clients on the following systems:
We are able to work with other general ledger systems as required. For further information on financial systems training please contact systemstraining@hbpublications.com
